Wednesday September 27th saw the Surf ’n’ Turf project unveiled to the public and to over 75 invited guests at a launch event in Kirkwall.
Paul Wheelhouse MSP – the Scottish Government Minister for Business, Innovation & Energy – cut a ribbon at the new hydrogen compound on Kirkwall Pier. That marked the start of a day of thank you celebrations.
Guests and members of the public attended an open session of presentations and videos at the Pickaquoy Centre.
On Thursday 28th, 30 of the invited guests travelled to Eday to see where and how the hydrogen is being produced from tidal and wind energy.
